Thoughts
I had a can of bubly explode in the rap nest. I had two cans stacked on each other that I brought up from downstairs. I was reaching for one of them and I knocked the top one off and it fell and hit the corner of the table and exploded. Lime bubly everywhere. I was already really behind the eight ball tonight with this weeks issue. That delay almost did me in tonight. I have some books drying under a fan right now. Books or record jackets getting wet are the worst.
I feel like I am running out of steam for this. I have been at this almost two years, each and every week. I don’t like to do things in my free time if they feel like a chore. If they are an actual chore that is fine that is part of life, but creative things should be fun and energizing. I am feeling like I am lacking the time and my energy levels by the end of the week are low. The weeks where I break up my wiring over multiple days are some of my best weeks, but I have also had great weeks when I felt like I had nothing and did it all in one sitting before publishing. That is how about 80% of these are done. One sitting Thursday night, a quick and let me stress quick read over and edit and publish.
When I am tired my mind wanders and I am easily distracted. It is not a lack of sleep I get a solid 8 every night and have a pretty standard bed time. I am up early every morning and my life has been in a real transition phase over the last few months and I think I finally have some clarity and things have turned positively in my favour. I am excited right now but I am giving a lot of effort to other endeavours and it is hard to keep up with all the commitments. I will take some time to see where this goes and reevaluate this and see how it can fit if I continue. I am not sure which way I am leaning. It could just be being tired after a really long Wednesday. Work, then straight to the Blades game, then I left after the second period and went to Third Verse and then finally home at 10:45pm. Wednesdays are always my latest bedtime during the week. Fridays are often one of my earliest as I am usually pretty tired. This is quite the ramble but I just wanted to share where I am with this right now.
For anyone wondering I made no progress logging any of my music or movie collection since last week’s TFTRN. On to a new week, I guess. I am thinking I will have the same results as I have a busy week coming up.
The homie Logs just put this album up on Bandcamp, Explain Nothing. Produced by the homie Eli BeBop. Really looking forward to a greta year of music from Logs. He has some great tracks in the chamber that are set for release this year!
My favourite combined forcers label OTHAR, is back with another Serengeti sure shot. I was thinking to myself it sure has been a minute since a Serengeti vinyl preorder. Really looking forward to this and extra excited it is Standard Chaps Black Vinyl!
Missed Third Verse last night? Well, are you ever in luck as UGSMAG once again has you covered!! Catch Rove, Nolto and I on Third Verse on CFCR 90.5 fm in Saskatoon, SK every Wednesday 9-10:30pm CST. Stream online via CFCR.ca or Radio Garden.
Sorry the playlist is not up. I didn’t type it out last night at the show. I was busy training and making sure Nolto and Rove were comfortable with things. It has been really awesome having them down at the station doing the show! Happy International Canadian Rap Week!
As always the last 10 episodes of my other weekly radio show You Know Know the Rules on UMFM in Winnipeg airing every Sunday night 10:00pm -11pm CST. Episodes available NOW!
Record One
The Cloaks - A Cloak ReWork Orange
This is a really beautiful release from the homies Awol One and Gel Roc aka The Cloaks. It is a really dope double lp gatefold release and it is on Standard Chaps Black Vinyl. Lots of great remixes from Controller 7, Aceyalone, Factor Chandelier, Megabusive, Paris Zax and more. This feel like a whole new album and is a must have for the collection. D-Styles is absolutely incredible on this one as one would expect. My jam is the Covenant of the Cloaks remix by Awkward.
Record Two
Swamp Thing x Danny Miles - Golden Crab
Swamp Thing never disappoints. I mean never, they always come correct each and every year with a really dope release. You can set your watch to it, it is that on point. Danny Miles does a great job on the production and Timbuktu, Savilion and Chokeules deliver the rhymes on time every time! Features are also always on point. My jam is Mind Riots featuring Wordburglar & More Or Les. Props for the Standard Chaps Black Vinyl pressing, making it two for two like it should be each and every week.
Closing Ramblings
As always, thank you for reading and for the feedback!
**legal disclaimer all records and songs were run through the RAP NEST 5000 SUPER ANALYTIC COMPTROLLER MACHINE that is certified by the I.A.A.R.R.A (International Association of Analytical Rap Recordings Analysis) in layman’s terms, it means the machine is never wrong.
Catch you next week with more thoughts from the rap nest.
Peace

I love the cover of that Cloaks album.
