Thoughts
I am super excited to announce that the homie Noblonksi will be joining me as a full time host each week on You Know The Rules on UMFM 101.5 every Sunday night 10-11pm CST. Noblonski and I hosted a few episodes together while he was here in Saskatoon this summer and I really enjoyed that experience. Since it is a syndicated show it was easy logistically to bring him in the mix. He has a wealth of rap knowledge and is an incredible artist in his own right. I am really happy that we got to spend so much time together this summer to get to know one another and really fortify an online friendship in the real world. Noblonski is as fanatical and exited about rap as I am so we are a perfect fit for one another. The format will remain the same with international rap music in the first half and Canadian rap in the second half. It is really exciting to have such an incredible co-host and I couldn’t think of anyone better suited to team up with.
This move coincides with the additions of Rove and Nolto as full time hosts on Third Verse. You are probably wondering why all of the sudden are you adding cohosts to both of the shows? Well the last six months I was working through a career change that would have taken me out of Saskatoon and involved shift work and a bunch of other unpredictable elements. So in the planning I brought all of these homies on board to cover things while I was gone. Once I gave notice to my current job they made an aggressive pitch to keep me and we worked out a very satisfactory deal and I am going to be staying here. I had pondered adding cohosts over the past few years. I really missed having them but I really didn’t know how much I missed the interaction once I was back in the studio with them. So, once my decision to stay was official I reached out to them again asking if they would like remain on as cohosts with me. I was very pleased when they all emphatically said they would.
It has been quite the ride to get to this point but I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Thank you Noblonski, Rove and Nolto for coming on board. I couldn’t be any luckier to have three homies like you!
I am really excited for the Stoich record! Xndl on the beats and Drunken Child on the rhymes is a great combination! The album also features a guest spot from the homie StapleMouth.
Missed Third Verse last night? Well, are you ever in luck as UGSMAG once again has you covered!! Catch Rove and I playing Valentine day inspired songs on Third Verse on CFCR 90.5 fm in Saskatoon, SK every Wednesday 9-10:30pm CST. Stream online via CFCR.ca or Radio Garden.
As always the last 10 episodes of Noblonski and I on You Know Know the Rules on UMFM in Winnipeg airing every Sunday night 10:00pm -11pm CST. Episodes available NOW!
I got to wish my pal Charlie Horse a happy birthday Saturday night at the Innovation Plex in Swift Current Saskatchewan as my Blades became the first team to wrap up a playoff spot in the WHL with a win! It was a super exciting game!
Record One
AJ Seude and Steel Tipped Dove- Reoccurring Characters
You already know what time it is, the Seude Gawd back with another sure shot! This time he teams up with super producer The Steel Tipped Dove for his first release om Steel Tipped Dove’s Fused Arrow Records. This is another sure shot as you would expect. It is a little darker of an album then I am used to hearing Aj Seude on, but I think that is what makes it dope. It is nice to hear some diversity whithin his catalogue. The album is everything you would expect when listening to an Aj Seude album. Another sure shot release. My Jam is Excessive Celebration featuring Duncecap.
PSA time, please put legible information about the record on the spine, don’t leave it blank. I think the spines of records are critical and often overlooked. It is a huge pet peeve of mine when there is no information on the spine . Also there is no mention of it being in Fused Arrow Records and no catalogue number also a pet peeve of mine.
Record Two
Homeliss Derilex - Fraudulent 2
I akm a sucker for anything by the Homeliss Derilex. 50 Grand has one of the best voices and smoothest flows in hip hop history. I never get tired of it, ever. G-Luv is also really nice on the production so they are a perfect producer mc duo. This one has a couple unreleased demo joints and of course I copped the Standard Chaps Black Vinyl version of this one! It is a nice double LP pressing featuring 17 great tracks. This is another sure shot release from Hip Hop Enterprise. One Concept is my jam!
We will be dropping the second volume of Fraudulent by the Homeliss Derilex on double vinyl for the first time ever. Just like the first volume released in 2004 this compilation presents you tracks that originally only appeared on demos, tape promos and vinyl singles. The music ranges from 1991 up to 2004 and as an extra you will get the Cash Money (Mike B Remix) and 2 of their earliest recordings taken from old 4 track tapes dating back to 1991. As always all tracks have been remastered and the album cover is an ode to their first tape release from 1993 where it all got started.
