Thoughts
Two Years! Tonights TFTRN celebrates a milestone of sorts as I publish the 104th newsletter marking two years of releasing one of these every week. This week was a trying week as we experienced a record snowfall and I have spent over 12 hours since Sunday shoveling, racking and moving snow. It is warming upon here this weekend so I wanted to rake as much snow off the roof as possible so I spent a couple hours when I got home from work doing so. Snow management as I like to call it is serious work. It is also satisfying but exhausting work. If I could have driven to the store and bought a snowblower on Sunday I probably would have bit the bullet and picked one up. We don’t get big snow falls like a lot of other places do and I have been shovelling snow since the mid 80’s and this is the largest accumulation of snow that I can remember.
Enough with the snow talk already, you are probably thinking. I am really tired and just sitting down to do this now and have very limited time this week as I want to go to bed shortly as I am pretty wiped out from the snowpocalypse that we encountered this week. Thank you everyone for reading these every week and for all the feedback and conversations! I really appreciate it!
Another lucrative and expensive Bandcamp Friday has come and gone. I tapped out after scooping three really exciting releases. StapleMouth & Result - Thunderhead EP, Serengeti - Davis/The Moon (double feature) and a tenth anniversary vinyl pressing of PremRock - A Clean, Well-Lighted Place. I am really looking forward to all of thees but probably the StapleMouth record the most. It was a great Bandcamp Friday, I hope everyone was able to grab something they were wanting.
Super 7 Is back with another sure shot drop. Another two figures on the same card back release like the Eric B and Rakim one that dropped previously. This one features one of the best to ever do it in Outkast. They are sculpted and painted in their outfits from the ATLiens album cover and it is perfect. This is a top five for me in my collection for sure. I really like the duo two pack. I would like to see a Gang Starr, Pete Rock and CL Smooth and Dj Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince ones like this in the future. I also really hope the make a Humpty Hump and Shock G two pack. That would be wild! I love these Reaction figures so much and I am so happy they are making all these rap related ones.

Record One
RBX - The RBX Files
I was really excited to add a vinyl copy of this album to my collection. Originally released in 1995 but now available once again on double Standard Chaps Black Vinyl courtesy of Spanish label Armabillion Recordz. I really like adding reissues and first time vinyl pressing of records that were really meaningful for me in my highschool days and this is is one of them. For this one it is particularly the track Slip Into Long Beach, which is a trunk rattler, intense fire you up thrill ride. To this day it is one of my favourite songs to drive around to with the woofers turned up loud. It is just a perfect song thats energy captured my energy as a teenager. If you have not heard the song search it out on the streams and turn it up real loud in the whip.
Record Two
Wordbuglar - 3rdburglar
Well my Bandcamp Vinyl campaign supported copy of this is now in my hands. It is a gatefold single vinyl pressing of maybe my favourite Wordburglar album. This one is full of some of his best songs and just heaters front to back. From Croque Monsieur, Rhyme O’Clock, Point Of Departure to the killer posse cut Steady and Stable. I love that this finally got a vinyl pressing. It seems like the Wordburglar is having a lot of success with these Bandcamp vinyl campaign pressings. I wish more artist would take advantage of this and press back catalogue things!
Closing Ramblings
As always, thank you for reading and for the feedback!
