The day is finally here, more anticipated for me then any other day this year. Why you ask because my best homie and friend Rove is dropping his debut release If Not Now of Vinyl, CD and Cassette for your listening pleaseure. To say I am amped up is an understatement, that is for sure. The day is finally here!
The album features a heavyweight class of mc’s: 2Mex, Rifleman, Riddlore, Subtitle, Misterman Cheers, Mickey Avalon, Awol One, Jihad The Roughneck MC, Mestizo, Megabusive, Radioinactive, Neila, Epic and Sole.
I am so happy for Rove as I know he has worked so hard and learned so much in they past year putting this album together. I feel like he has been crafting this album in his mind for the past 20 years. You can tell he has studied the craft of beatmaking and analyzed the ins and outs of the mcs styles to craft perfect beats that bring out the best of them.
Nolto and I were really lucky in this process as we got to hear beats as they were created. We chatted about who we thought would sound good on them and we acted as sounding board for as Rove solicited our opinions as the record took shape. Shout out to Drum Machine Mike who I know also played a big role behind the scenes on this record and in Rove’s beatmaking. It is really cool to witness this from inception to release in such a short period of time.
Noyz or 319 Heads did an incredible job on the design and layout for the album! It turned out amazing!
